PALAZZO DELLA TORRE

This beautiful parcel that we call a ‘garden of vines’ is located at an average altitude of 240 m a.s.l. and enjoys excellent exposure to the east.
The varieties cultivated are Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, and a small percentage of Sangiovese. The vineyard has undergone a very recent renovation, shifting from the traditional Trentino Pergola training to Guyot, with an average density of about 4,500 vines/ha. The entire area is terraced and supported by ‘marogne’, the typical dry stone walling that is a characteristic example of the local rural architecture. The substrate is mainly made up of marly limestone that fosters considerable sugar accumulation while maintaining a good level of acidity.

THE GROLA

An historic parcel, renowned for its incredible geographical position: a cliff-like peak that levels off as a plateau at about 300 m asl and looks out over nearby Lake Garda.

The 1979 vine-training system, which was revolutionary at the time given the introduction of the Guyot method, and the increase in plant density to about 4,200 vines / ha, was designed to enhance the Corvina variety. The subsequent plant-training system, set up in 1998, saw the density increase to about 6,500 vines / ha. The terrain is characterized by very little soil, scarce organic substances, rich active limestone, potassium and calcium deposits, and low levels of magnesium and iron. La Grola enjoys constant breezes as well as excellent insolation which, thanks to its south-east exposure and location on the top of a hill, yields grapes with great expressive potential and elegance.

THE POJA

La Poja, a precious 2.65-ha triangle of land, is located on the top of the hill of La Grola. When it was planted in 1979, it was identified by Giovanni Allegrini as the ideal site for the production of a 100% Corvina wine.

The climatic conditions are the same as on La Grola, but there is a significant difference in the type of terrain. Of Cretaceous origin, it has a considerable limestone component and is very rich in skeletal material. The stony and very sparse topsoil has a perfectly white appearance which, reflecting the sunlight, ensures that the grapes achieve ideal sugar and phenolic ripeness.

VILLA CAVARENA

This is a beautiful estate with a significant historic profile: the 18th-century Villa that is part of the property was the home of Abbot Bartolomeo Lorenzi, an important Veronese poet and academic, and the author of the poem ‘Dellaultura de’ monti ‘ (On the cultivation of the hills).

It is one of the Allegrini family’s recent projects: purchased in 1998 in a complete state of neglect, it has now been transformed into one of its most important vineyards in terms of size and prestige. Located in Mazzurega, a hamlet to the west of the Municipality of Fumane, the parcel is located at an altitude of 500 m asl The cultivated varieties are Corvina Veronese, Corvinone, Rondinella and Oseleta. The training system is Guyot with a density of 4,545 vines / ha. The composition of the soil, which is calcareous, rich in skeletal material and with good drainage capacity, together with excellent exposure and constant breezes, guarantee healthy grapes with a good acid content and elevated concentration.

FIERAMONTE

Located in Mazzurega at an altitude of 400 m asl, Fieramonte faces south-east, overlooking the valley of Fumane.

This is an old parcel that was replanted in 2003 with a density of 4,540 vines / ha with Guyot training. The varieties cultivated are Corvina Veronese, Corvinone, Rondinella and Oseleta. The soil is clayey-calcareous, very deep and with excellent resilience during periods of drought. It is capable of producing grapes with excellent indices of ripeness and particularly interesting aromatic expressiveness.

MONTE DEI GALLI

Located on a hill in the municipality of San Pietro in Cariano, at an altitude of about 200 m asl, this parcel is characterized by its south-easterly exposure.

It enjoys a good flow of night-time air currents coming from the north which generate particularly interesting differences in day-to-night-time temperatures. The Guyot-trained vineyard is planted at a density of about 5,000 vines / ha with the Corvina, Rondinella and Oseleta varieties. The composition of the soil is clayey-silty, poor in organic matter, and with a rather high limestone content. At harvest, the grapes, particularly Corvina, exhibit very good sugar concentrations and phenolic properties.
