Feudi di San Gregorio was established in 1986 in Sorbo Serpico, a tiny village in Campania’s Irpinia region, near Mount Vesuvius, by the Capaldo and Ercolino families from Irpinia. Serpico is a 100% Aglianico wine from their historic “Dal Re” vineyard in deep soil originally from volcanic ash. The three main grapes of Italy are Sangiovese, Nebbiolo and Aglianico which makes a big powerful wine that improves with time in the cellar and top bottlings like this wine rival the worlds finest big reds.
