2010 Chateau La Dominique Grand Cru Classe
2010 Chateau La Dominique Grand Cru Classe A very strong showing for this estate” – James Molesworth at Wine Spectator
“This is a beautifully rich St.-Emilion for pleasure seekers” – Parker
“The 2010 is a reassuringly great example of La Dominique after some less-than-stellar performances. This has always been one of the best terroirs on the Pomerol-St.-Emilion border, just adjacent to Cheval Blanc” – Parker
“A glorious display of fruit” – James Molesworth at Wine Spectator
“Wonderful pure ripe fruit on the palate with a long layered texture and super velvety tannins.” – James Suckling
Many years ago when I was getting into wine and thinking about being in the business. My favorite Uncle bought me some wine that has made an impression on ever since, some 30 years ago. We were all having lunch around a big table, lots of food, conversations and laughter and my Uncle brought out some Mags of 1982 Chateau La Dominique that he had specially purchased. I have never to this day forgotten how the wine tasted and the impact it made on me at the time. Since that day I have absolutely loved the wines of La Dominique. Today the wine is considered a ‘rising star’ of Saint Emilion and ‘one to watch by Parker and Hugh Johnson. It belongs to Clement Fayat, one of the most successful businessmen in France, who has decided to invest a lot in his property to bring it up to among the best of Bordeaux. The property, as Parker also states it, “has always been one of the best terroirs on the Pomerol-St.-Emilion border, just adjacent to Cheval Blanc”. It is literally meters away from Cheval Blanc (it would take you less than 2 minutes walking through the vines to go from Cheval Blanc to La Dominique). We all know how tremendous the 2010 vintage is for Bordeaux and I have been able to secure a tiny amount fn the exquisite 2010 Chateau La Dominique Grand Cru Classe. For what’s in the bottle at the price Bordeaux does not get better. I have also some large format to offer. Share the experience that changed my life and my love of wine. Extremely Limited.
