2016 Recchia Amarone della Valpolicella Classico
2016 Recchia Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Produced primarily from the Corvina grape. Amarone is characterized by ripe, bold flavors. Amarone della Valpolicella is a rich, dry Italian red wine from the Veneto region.
Rich scents of overripe grapes, spicy, and ethereal. The palate is intense yet harmonious. A warm, hearty, velvety finish. A wonderful accompaniment to any red meat dish, roasts and cheeses.
Amarone is produced throughout the Valpolicella denomination (including the sub-zones of Classico and Valpantena) from grapes dried until at least 1 December following the vintage and fermented out to a minimum of 14% alcohol. The wine may contain a maximum of between 12g/L and about 16g/L of sugar (depending on its total alcohol content), though 5-7g/L is more common. The wine is aged for a minimum of two years from the year following the vintage or for four years (beginning in November) for Riserva.
For over a hundred years the Recchia family have been master wine makers. For many generations the family has lived in the heart of Valpolicella in the valley of Negrar. Wine making is in their blood. Their love for the local terrior and the traditions make their wines special.
