Firms up on the finish, yet shows enough fruit and flesh for balance and a good evolution. Offers a fine, juicy finish. Best from 2022 through 2036. An absolute steal for what’s in the bottle.

Nothing matches the great wines of Burgundy. They have been copied and emulated world- wide to no avail. Nothing touches their purity, depth, complexity and length. Unfortunately they have become harder to get and their prices have sky rocketed. The hardest wine for me to find is excellent great red Burgundy at a reasonable price that I can offer. Finally after much looking I tasted this wine at a non-descript tasting and I was blown away by this wine and floored at the price I can offer it to you. Now much of the best quality that is coming out of Burgundy are coming the most recent younger generation. They are not satisfied with the fact that if they own good vineyards in Burgundy, they know their wines will sell no matter the quality like many from previous generations. These young Turks want to make the best possible wines that they can. They go to the finest institutions to learn how to make wine and they travel to the world’s great wine regions, learning and honing their craft. One of these young Turks is Eddy Morey and his wines are awesome, spectacular purity authentic wines that dazzle the senses only like Burgundy can. The wine is the 2017 Eddy Morey Beaune Premier Cru ‘Les Aigrots and it is spectacular. Other Premier Crus of this quality are well over $100 a bottle. I love this Premier Cru because one of my all-time favorite producers Domaine de Montille makes a “les Aigrot” the same vineyard and a wine I have loved. The vineyard is next to very famous Clos des Mouches which depending on producer sell for $150 to $300 per. The wine has excellent depth and intensity on the palate, great interplay between the concentrated fruit and the oak. A wine you can enjoy now and over the next ten years. An Amazing buy from an up and comer to loot out for. I have been waiting for this wine to arrive for four months. It was meant to arrive in September but in this crazy world it has just arrived. I am a huge fan of Burgundy, and have been dissecting, analyzing and searching for the best for decades. I can tell you this is a great red Burgundy for the money.
