2017 Gamble Family Vineyards Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon:
91 James Suckling: Currant, blackberry, and fresh herb aromas follow through to a medium body, lightly chewy tannins and a chocolate and currant aftertaste. Give it a year or two to come together but already delicious.
90 Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate: Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley opens with cassis, espresso, earth and Marmite toast with hints of licorice and salami. The medium to full-bodied mouth is fairly simple but well done, open-knit with good expression and soft tannins.

Harvest & Winemaking
The first element was harvested on September 17 and the last on
October 11. At the heart of this wine is some of our finest Oakville
fruit, offering a rich texture and bright fruit flavors. Another
important element is the Clone 6 Calistoga Cabernet grown
at the northern end of the valley, offering a counterpoint of
more savory, earthy flavors. Fruit from eight different vineyards
contributed to this blend resulting in a complex wine with layered
flavors. The wine spent 20 months in the barrel gently evolving and
softening before being bottled
