2018 Elyse Nero Misto Like a hippo on a tightrope, the 2015 Nero Misto (Italian for “Mixed Black”) is big, bodacious, and above all, balanced. Dark purple in color with Beautiful aromas of roasted fig, blackberry and clove, this homage to the blends of early Napa is a serious red wine. On the palate, it offers a lively and focused mouthfeel with mixed berry flavors and an amazing balance of fruit, tannin, and acidity.

The wine is 2018 Elyse Nero Misto Red Blend. 2018 is a great vintage for Napa. Decanter loved the vintage, “ The 2018 Napa Valley Cabernet vintage belongs in an echelon with the finest of the past two decades. It was absent of challenges that plagued many of the previous years, ranging from drought, low yields and heatwaves” The wine was sourced from great vineyards: Morisoli in Rutherford, York Creek on top of Spring mountain, Poor Vineyard and Rosewood. The wine is very much in the style of the ever popular Venge Scouts Honor, big, rich, opulent with massive fruit concentration that is cashmere soft on the palate and silky smooth on the finish. This is a tremendous big red for the money that will delight Napa red wine lovers. The wine is absolutely delicious now and over the next 5 years.
