2018 Mollydooker Shiraz Velvet Glove Dense, dark and brooding in the glass, the 2018 Velvet Glove Shiraz is complex and sumptuous. Black plum, blueberries and roasted coffee intermingle with anise in its lifted fragrance. A supremely smooth molten chocolate mouthfeel accentuates the precise balance of infinitely complex structure, expressing deep flavors of berries, whilst liqorice and allspice linger on the palate. 2018 has produced a Velvet Glove of incredible eminence and elegance that is truly the pinnacle of Mollydooker Wines.

96 Robert Parker: The most dense and concentrated of the current Mollydooker offerings is the 2018 Velvet Glove Shiraz. Because of that, it’s also among the most fruit-forward, with the oak elements of vanilla, mocha and cedar pushed into the background in favor of ripe raspberries and blackberries. Taut and focused for its size, this full-bodied effort is smooth and creamy textured on the palate, where the fruit glides into a long, velvety finish.

Red wine

Red wine has been prevalent since prehistory (the period before written records) as winemaking originated and spread throughout the world. In this case, “red blend” refers to any red wine that contains more than one red grape variety in the final product, though certain red blends can have their own designation as varietal wines despite comprising multiple grapes.
For much of the history of European wine, red blends were in fact more common than single varietals, as winemaking was typically region-centric and featured grapes consolidated from vineyards across a given area.
