Feuillat-Juillot
Françoise Feuillat-Juillot fell into wine at a young age, she grew up in a winemaking family. Despite the family business, she started her professional life on a different path. Françoise left Burgundy to attend college in Paris and started studying International Trade.
After two years away, her connection to Burgundy proved to be too strong to avoid. She came back, studied Enology at the University of Dijon for one year, and then joined a producer in Montagny-les-Buxy. She worked alongside him for a couple of years, managing the planting of new vineyards and learning hands-on about how to run a cellar. In 2002, after the unexpected death of her associate, she was left alone to manage the whole domaine. A couple years later she was able to purchase it for herself and start Domaine Feuillat-Juillot.
Françoise takes a lot of pride in the village of Montagny and the care she puts into her wines shows off the village’s real potential. It might not be a household name but Montagny is a village that should be on every Burgundy lover’s radar.
