The 2019 Forman Cabernet Sauvignon is impressive, even the color tells the story: deep ruby red and very pretty in its brilliance. Nothing is obvious but all so integrated. Deep black berry and tobacco seem to mesh with an almost mint-violet complex. A beautiful toasty oak brings all together. There is so much going on aromatically one can only imagine how time will enhance and develop the aromas into something quite grand indeed. It’s hard to stop inhaling these fabulous qualities. The flavor does not disappoint; there is so much going on. This is perhaps the richest wine Forman has ever produced, but certainly not awkwardly so. Beautiful fruit flavors combined with incredible texture. This is a tremendously mouth-filling wine. A real keeper! Winemaker

I have been able to secure a drop dead price on the great 2019 Forman Cabernet, a legend in the making and as blue-chip Napa as they come. Ric Forman has been making Cabernet in Napa since the 1970’s. He is arguably Napa Valley’s first superstar winemaker. Parker comments, “Forman’s Cabernet is one of the classic masterpieces of Napa Valley.” He started his own winery in 1983 at the foot of Howell Mountain, a boutique winery that makes just 2000 cases of Cabernet and 2000 cases of Chardonnay a year. It’s a jewel of an estate and in 2019 Forman was working on his 53rd vintage which is pretty unheard of in Napa. The wine comes from the great 2019 vintage in Napa, 97pts by Wine Spectator for the vintage with excellent structure worthy of the cellar. Galloni of Vinous comments; “the 2019s I have tasted so far are fabulous. ” Decanter, “Napa has delivered a beautifully classic vintage in 2019.” Parker’s WA have the vintage 96pts. Now Forman absolutely nailed it with his 2019 Cabernet. It is possibly the richest Cabernet Forman has ever produced, maintaining spectacular balance. I have been a huge fan for many vintages and this is up there with the best. Forman himself commented, “2019 was a spectacular vintage. The wine got a huge 97pts by the conservative Vinous. The wine is starting to show itself and continue drinking brilliantly for another two decades. Our price on this keeper is strong. We sold the wine on release at below retail on release for $149.99.
