2019 Il Borro Rosso Toscana
2019 Il Borro Rosso Toscana Overall intense and concentrated with aromas of cherry, green olive, chocolate, cedar, leather, and tobacco. Mouthfeel is consistent & well-integrated with soft tannins. Winemaker.
Fresh and floral with black cherry and lavender aromas that follow through to a medium body with well-integrated tannins, that spread beautifully across the palate. Turns silky and beautiful. Hints of smoke and spice at the end. Crunchy at the end. 50% merlot, 35% cabernet sauvignon and 15% Syrah. Drinkable but even better in three to four years. 96pts Suckling
Seamless, full-bodied red wine that presents an A-list aromatic presentation with dark fruit and plum followed by savory spice, leather and tobacco. The quality of the fruit is sweet and bright, but there is also a distinct mineral note to the wine that contrasts the sweetness with saltiness. The tannins are well integrated and there is enough acidity to lift the entire flavor profile of this beautiful wine.
Il Borro is a spectacular Winery just outside of Arezzo that is owned by Ferruccio Ferragamo, the son of footwear designer Salvatore Ferragamo. In 1993 Ferruccio renovated and modernized the winery. This wine is a culmination of his efforts and wow is it a gorgeous red. From start to finish the wine is superb, muscular and opulent, great concentration and superb layering. Only the finest handpicked grapes are selected for this wine that is aged in new French Allier Oak. The vineyards are immaculate and no expense is spared to make the best possible wine. This is a great Super Tuscan at an extremely reasonable price and absolutely delicious now and over the next 20 years. The wine Il Borro Rosso Toscana 2019 is a beautiful wine. 2019 is a great vintage, 95pts by Parker and Spectator. Many are comparing to the great 2016’s. This is highest rated vintage of this wine to date, 18 vintages. This is a must for big red lovers. I strongly recommend.
