2019 Lagarde ‘Primeras Vinas’ Lujan Vineyard Malbec 750ML
2019 Lagarde ‘Primeras Vinas’ Lujan Vineyard Malbec 750ML A Malbec made from old vines in Drummond and Perdriel (founded in 1906 and 1930, respectively), Luján de Cuyo, that spent up to 18 months in French barrels. Dark violet in the glass. The nose presents prunes and herbs over compressed traces of oak. Juicy in the mouth, with firm, gentle tannins and a smooth, flowing feel. The nose and mouth do their own thing and the combination works well. Finishes slowly with a lengthy aftertaste. – Vinous
Lagarde is pleased to introduce Primeras Vinas a collection of two red wines, each of which is the result of the work and time invested in a special vineyard, their age and treatment. Their production takes between 12 and 14 months in French oak barrels, with at least 12 months of stowage in a controlled environment, resulting in great potential that can be enjoyed for 10-15 years. Only 4,000-15,000 bottles are produced annually.
Primeras Viñas Malbec: Is our malbec red wine made with grapes from our centennial vineyards, planted in 1906 and 1930.
The 2018 Primeras Viñas Malbec Luján de Cuyo displays a bright and dark ruby color and a very classical and balanced profile, reflecting a cooler year. The wine shows a bit tight and reticent, but there’s phenomenal balance and perfectly integrated oak from a soft vinification and slow aging of 16 to 18 months in French oak barrels. It’s varietal, elegant and with the depth and clout of the old vines (from 1906 and 1930).
