The wine is made by Englishman, Jonathan Maltus who has a long list 95-100 point wines. Maltus became famous in St Emilion Bordeaux where he was instrumental in the Garagiste movement, making tiny lots of wines, breaking all the rules resulting in some of the finest wines made in Bordeaux today. His most famous Le Dôme and Teyssier , Le Dôme getting multiple 100pt scores. Having conquered Bordeaux, Maltus turned to Napa, using the same philosophy, he set ‘Worlds End’ focusing on making small lots of wine from some of the greatest vineyards in all of Napa. We are talking superstar Andy Beckstoffer’s To Kalon, George 111, Missouri Hopper and Stagecoach on the Pritchard Hill side. Wines sourced from these vineyards go for hundreds of dollars a bottle and have got multiple 100pt scores from the like of Robert Parker and the Wine Spectator. Today I bring you the great 2019 Worlds End Cabernet Crossfire Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper Vineyards from a great vintage. Wine Spectator has rated the 2019 Napa vintage 97pts and Parker 96pts confirming the greatness of the vintage. Owned by Andy Beckstoffer, they are the most expensive grapes in Napa. Purchased by Charles Hopper and given to his daughter Missouri in 1877, the land was planted to wine grapes, prunes and walnuts. In 1960, the land was purchased by Bruce Kelham as part of the historic Vine Hill Ranch. Purchased by Beckstoffer Vineyards from the Kelham family in 1996. Some of the finest producers in Napa make a Missouri Hopper Cabernet, including Carter, Venge, Alpha Omega, huge scores that sell for around $200 a bottle. Down to $59.99 this wine is an absolute no-brainer buy. You will never see this blue chip vineyard from a great vintage and famous winemaker anywhere near this price again.
