2020 Greywacke Sauvignon Blanc
A Spectacular Expression Of Sauvignon Blanc!
There Is A Shortage Of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc!
There is a shortage of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. Two short harvests in a row and supply issues that are effecting commerce around the globe has resulted in very little quality available and the problem is only going to get worse. Todays wine was meant to be received months ago and has just arrived. It is one of the finest we have seen this year. The 2020 Greywacke Sauvignon Blanc is one of the finest out there, 95pts Decanter and 94pts Suckling massive scores for such a wine. Greywacke is brought to us by NZ Sauvignon Blanc pioneer Kevin Judd whose career is intrinsically linked with the global path of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. Greywacke (pronounced “grey-wacky”) is Kevin’s personal venture and with his incredible knowledge of everything NZ Sauvignon Blanc has risen to be on one of finest examples. Named after New Zealand’s prolific bedrock, Greywacke was originally adopted as the name of the Judd’s first vineyard in Rapaura, whose soils had an abundance of these river stones. Fresh and alive, gloriously zippy this is as good as NZ Sauvignon Blanc. We have a shot opportunity with the shipment that just arrived and that’s it. Please Enjoy!
Imagine a summer fruit salad – ripe golden peaches, honeydew melon, nectarines and passionfruit, with a generous splash of cassis and a sprinkling of lime zest – this is a subtle, delicately aromatic, ripe interpretation of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. The palate is generous and textural, showing great concentration and finishing with a crisp, succulent finish. Winemaker
Seductive bouquet of wild flowers and minerals, a fine leesy complexity and fresh aromas and flavors of citrus, peach tea and sweet hay. Crisp, refreshing, fruity and dry with fine texture. Just enough concentration of flavor to contrast the fresh herb notes and salivating acidity. Well-made and long. 95 pts Decanter
A very fresh, lime and grapefruit nose with a gently herbal thread, as well as green passion-fruit notes. The palate has a captivating fusion of fresh acidity and rich, fleshy fruit flavors. Zesty and intense. Very drinkable! 94pts Suckling
