2020 La Follette Los Primeros Pinot Noir
2020 La Follette Los Primeros Pinot Noir Black currant , dark fruit, strawberry. Interesting pinot, it definitely needs to open. Don’t serve straight from the bottle
“A wild bouquet of raspberry, chicory and tuberose plays against earthier notes of juniper berry and forest floor. With time in glass, warm sandalwood emerges. A soft entry transitions quickly to red plum and bright, fruity acidity. Supple tannins frame late-palate notes of oak spice, bark and tamari. An aromatically layered and inviting Pinot Noir; nuanced and satisfying.
La Follette is a Sonoma County winery intensely focused on crafting wines that offer benchmark expression of vineyard site and appellation. La Follette’s portfolio of small lot Chardonnay and Pinot Noir offers a sensory tour of some of the most expressive and interesting vineyards in Sonoma and Mendocino County.
Over the years, Greg La Follette has become undeniably fond of experimentation in his winemaking and his taste for exploration is evident in the wines he crafts. While each La Follette vineyard-designate wine offers decidedly different profiles, they all share a rich and powerful, yet elegant texture.
Throughout his extensive career, Greg La Follette has existed just outside of the limelight, though his reputation and expertise might suggest otherwise. As a winemaker, Greg’s focus has been on collaboration and partnership. At every juncture he has sought to build a sense of community. Greg likes to describe much of the depth and complexity of La Follette wines as originality from the imprints of these human connections.”
