Shelly Rafanelli is the winemaker and the vines were planted by her great grandfather. Dry Creek Valley is infamous for Zinfandel and Rafanelli are the pioneers of this great grape. 2021 is considered a great vintage, very dry year. The old dry farmed vines continued to amaze producing another classic vintage. The lack of rainfall meant smaller berries and lighter clusters, resulting in lower yields but higher intensity of color and flavors. The wine though superbly rich and opulent have a natural elegance and class from the 100 year old vines. If you want experience the heights that Zinfandel can achieve, the best there is.
