The ‘Taillepieds’ vineyard in Volnay is considered to be one of the finest red wine vineyards in the Cote de Beaune. Quality from this vineyard can be found selling for anywhere between $150 to $300 a bottle. Today I have for you a spectacular example on offer for $69.99 and the wine is kicking. The Boussey Volnay 1er Taillepieds 2021 is a tiny production wine, only 75 cases made from 75+ year old vines. Boussey is a fifth generation Domaine, now in the hands of Laurent and Karen Boussey. The grapes come from the middle of the hill, perfect place with excellent southern exposure for optimal ripeness. The wine is beautifully elegant and pure. The length is spectacular. This Should Cost At Least Cost Double this Price (2014 was $68 at a store in NYC via 3-Tier Years Back). Perhaps Best Value in Elite 1er cru Volnay. You Cannot Find any Decent Taillepieds Under $90. Treat yourself to a great wine!
