2021 Sinegal Estate Cabernet
2021 Sinegal Estate Cabernet Sinegal’s 2021 Cabernet is a wonderful expression of a superb Napa Valley vintage, exhibiting elegance, power, and purity. The nose has enticing aromas of baked blueberry crumble, ripe blackberries, with notes of sweet leather and baking spice. The wine is inky dark and concentrated with flavors of black cherry, dark chocolate, and hints of dried thyme. The wine leaves a lasting impression on the palate with supple tannins, rich blue fruits, and has lift and length from the bright acidity. Upon opening the wine delivers impressive aromas, flavors, and texture, but is worthy of ageing for over a decade. Winery
This is a must for Napa Cab lovers. In 2013 the Sinegal Family was able to purchase one of the original great wine properties in St Helena from the Wolf Family. The original Inglewood Estate which began in 1879 and started planting vines in 1879. This is a magnificent historical property that is right at the base of the Mayacamas Mountain Range. The property is run by David Sinegal who is a brilliant business strategist and visionary. He has put a Napa dream team together to ensure success. Jim Barbour was hired to plant and manage the vineyard. He is responsible for maintaining (and planting) some of Napa’s most fabulous vineyards, including Blankiet, Fantesca, Grace Family, and Hundred Acre. He hired Ryan Knoth to make the wine who had the honor of working under David Abreu, Michel Rolland, and Fredrik Johansson at Staglin Family Vineyard and Jim Barbour and Philippe Melka at Gandona Winery. They are all legendary winemakers mainly working with Napa Cab. He hired Tony Biagi to consult who was named by 2020 Wine Maker of the year in Napa by Gallon and has or does make wine for Plumpjack, Cade and Hourglass.
We have the 2021 Sinegal Estate Cabernet just in and 2021 is a great vintage for Napa Cab. Yields were low, berries were small, wines of great intensity and complexity that will be long lived, great for the cellar. Parker’s WA has rated the vintage 96pts confirming the greatness of the vintage. 2021 has not been rated yet but looking at the last couple of vintages of the wine, the wine got huge press 98 and 97pt scores. 2020 was not made because of the fires.
A huge no-brainer if you love deep, powerful, layered and highly complex, opulent cabernet.
