2015 Valdicava Brunello
2015 Valdicava Brunello Wine Spectator Wonderful aromas of roses and sliced plums with wet earth and truffles. Then turns to raspberries and blackberries. Cherries, too. Full and firm with super integrated tannins that melt into the wine. It flows from the center palate in a beautiful sheet of fruit and tannins. Extremely long and coated with great finesse. Goes on for minutes. Better in 2022, but already a joy to taste. 99pts Suckling
“The Valdicava 2015 Brunello di Montalcino is a dark and sultry wine with a beautiful presentation of aromas. This full-bodied Sangiovese opens to aromas of plumy dark fruit, black cherry, cured tobacco, cola and balsam spice. There are earthy or savory tones as well, with some fragrant crushed flower or wild rose that come straight out of the classic Sangiovese playlist.” 96pts Parker’s WA

We have secured a tiny amount of the great 2015 Valdicava Brunello for you. A great wine in a great vintage! James Suckling, the world’s leading expert on Brunello, he lives and is based in Tuscany calls the vintage ‘historical’ and ‘not to be missed’.
“The 2015 vintage is a historical year for Brunello di Montalcino that nobody should miss. The wines show impressive precision of vivid fruit, fine tannins and freshness in acidity despite their ripeness and richness which makes them some of the most exciting in years.”
“The words for the 2015 vintage are density, tannins and freshness,” says Roberto Guerrini, whose family owns Eredi Fuligni.
Suckling: “The wine beautiful depth of fruit and endless length. They are dense and rich wines with great structure of tannins yet they remain finely textured and comprehensive in the mouth. The seamless tannins seem to melt into the wine – a characteristic I have never seen in my 36 years visiting the area as a wine critic and journalist.” Valdicava’s Brunello’s offer a rare opportunity for the fine wine collector. Vincenzo Abbruzzese’s star is rising and his tiny 10 hectare estate is steadily achieving cult status among the wine elite. One of the greatest big reds out there!!
