Broadbent 5Yr Reserve Madiera 12In
Broadbent 5Yr Reserve Madiera 12In Combining different wines together, we try to have a final wine with high quality. Blending helps to balance the wine, to add layers of flavors and better integrate the sugars and acids. Blending allows us to select the best characteristics of different wines and then mix them all together to create a much better flavor profile.
At Broadbent Selections, we look for wines to import that are the very best of their type. It’s not enough for a wine to please us; its quality and value must bowl us over. It’s been said that the difference between a good meal and a great meal is that, with the former, you finish the meal thinking, “The food was good”. With a great meal however, you think, “Life is good”. And that’s precisely what we look for, and what we’re proud to represent – wines that gratify not just the palate, but the soul. We also represent the people and passion behind those wines.
Since we were founded in 1996, our focus has always been on family-owned wineries, on places with personality and stories, and on wines that come from the heart. Quality and character. We’re extremely proud of both the wines we represent at Broadbent Selections and the great people behind them.
91 Tom Cannavan: Critic tasting note: “(2011) Selected by Michael Broadbent and wine importer son Bartholomew, this wine made from Tinta Negra Mole was aged in oak casks for at least five years. Cappuccino and rum-soaked raisins, as well as lovely walnut fudge notes are gorgeous and very inviting. On the palate this delicious, marmalade rich and sweet wine has fantastic chocolate richness, intense raisin flavour and sweetness and terrific lemony acidity that just streaks away into the finish. Really a very lovely Madeira this.” – 91/100, Tom Cannavan
