Château Belle-Vue ‘Petit Geste’ is an elegant and distinctive white wine from Bhamdoun in Mount Lebanon, crafted from a carefully balanced blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier. Produced from organically farmed, high-altitude vineyards ranging between approximately 950 and 1,250 metres above sea level, the wine reflects the cool mountain conditions and limestone-and-clay soils of the estate. Fermented and aged in stainless steel, Petit Geste preserves the purity and freshness of its fruit while offering a refined, textured expression of Lebanese white winemaking.
In the glass, Petit Geste presents a clear, brilliant pale yellow to warm golden hue. The nose is delicate yet expressive, opening with white flowers, mimosa and subtle anise, followed by aromas of ripe apricot, white peach, pear and gentle tropical fruit. Depending on vintage, nuances of passion fruit, guava, melon and citrus can emerge, creating an aromatic profile that combines floral elegance with fresh, inviting fruit.
On the palate, Château Belle-Vue ‘Petit Geste’ is fresh, silky and beautifully balanced. Bright citrus flavours of grapefruit and lime mingle with white peach, apricot and soft tropical fruit, while the Viognier contributes a rounded texture and gentle floral character. The Sauvignon Blanc brings lively acidity and freshness, giving the wine energy and definition. Recent vintages have also shown subtle buttery and saline nuances toward the finish, adding an appealing layer of complexity without compromising the wine’s refreshing personality.
The finish is clean, elegant and pleasantly persistent, with lingering impressions of citrus, white peach, tropical fruit and delicate floral notes. A subtle mineral and saline character adds further definition, while the refreshing acidity keeps the wine vibrant and inviting. Its combination of aromatic fruit, silky texture and bright freshness makes Petit Geste particularly enjoyable as a young, expressive white, although the winery notes that selected vintages can develop favourably for several years.
Food Pairing: This versatile Lebanese white pairs beautifully with oysters, prawns, grilled or poached salmon, scallops and delicate white fish. Its fresh acidity and aromatic character also complement melon and prosciutto, light salads, seafood pasta and gently warmed Camembert. It works equally well as a refreshing aperitif, particularly when served chilled.
Serving Suggestion: Serve well chilled at approximately 6–8°C to highlight its citrus, floral and tropical character. Allowing the wine a few minutes in the glass after opening can reveal additional layers of apricot, white peach, anise and mineral freshness. Serve in a medium-sized white-wine glass to preserve its delicate aromas while allowing the elegant Sauvignon Blanc–Viognier blend to express its full character.
