Red Wine from Bordeaux, France
This is a great wine at a great price; many believe the finest wine made here in the last 25 years. I loved the wine, starting to drink with a drinking window through 2045, great now and great for the cellar. The wine is the superb 2020 Chateau Fleur Cardinale, receiving Grand Cru Classe status in 2006, which was one of the fastest ascents in the appellations history. The big reason for this is the taking over of the Chateau by the Decoster family. The Decoster family spent three decades in the Limoges porcelain industry – masters of craft, precision and the art of presentation and it shows in their vines. With the help of consulting winemaker Jean-Philippe Fort of the Rolland Laboratory, Fleur Cardinale has reached the top echelons of quality in St Emilion. 2020 is a great vintage in Bordeaux, 95pts by Parker’s WA and 98pts by Vinous. 2020 was a rare time when Bordeaux prices came down even in a strong vintage (Covid year) This is a great wine at a great price but unfortunately very limited. Experience the Hillside difference. I strongly recommend.
