Bordeaux lovers, big red wine lovers this wine is a buy. Incredible quality, concentration, opulence matched finesse. Chateau Mangot can only be described as a labor of love over 70 years and three generations culminating in this delicious Bordeaux achieving Grand Cru status in 2022. This is a massive achievement in Bordeaux where classifications go back 100 of years, a huge accomplishment. Ever since the news broke I have been trying to get my hands on the wine. I focused on the 2020 , a great vintage in Bordeaux, rated 95pts by Parker’s WA for the vintage. The Chateau Mangot 2020 also got massive scores: 94pts by Parker’s WA, commenting that the wine ‘turned out beautifully’ and ‘This is a brilliant wine that sells for a song and which surpasses many of its more well-known neighbors.’ I can tell you some of its neighbors go for $100 plus a bottle. The wine also got 94pts Decanter and I tasted a bottle over the weekend and wow silk and satin with gorgeous fruit concentration, I have tasted many wines that are two to three times the price that aren’t as good as this wine. Yours for under thirty. A strong case buy while supplies last.
The 2020 Mangot has turned out beautifully, bursting with aromas of cherries, wild berries, rose petals, blood orange and bay leaf. Medium to full-bodied, supple and seamless, it’s pure and vibrant, with a layered core of fruit, velvety tannins and a long, mouthwateringly chalky finish. This is a brilliant wine that sells for a song and which surpasses many of its more well-known neighbors. Parker
