2020 Chateau Pontet-Canet Pauillac 5eme Grand Cru Classe 750ML

2020 was an excellent vintage with a magical array of aromatics ranging from graphite and cedar-wood notes to aromas of wild fruit. The depth of flavor on the palate is underpinned by soft tannins and lovely acidity. The finish, which reveals subtle smoky notes, is amazingly long. Uniqueness in its purest form, the Pontet-Canet vineyard located in the commune of Pauillac. Their terroir, known as the “plateau”, is a gentle broad outcrop of Garonne gravel soil that sits on a bedrock of limestone. This unique terroir along with the estates Biodynamic approach creates a new dimension to their wines. It has given them greater depth while producing more precise and silky tannins. The length of flavor on the palate has gained in minerality and the wines are purer and more vibrant.
