With a ruby-red color, Barolo Noi has a rich, elegant and subtle bouquet which gradually recalls the scents of violets, plums and cherries; the spices cinnamon, pepper and licorice, as well as tobacco and white truffle. It has a dry and well-balanced flavor: thick at first with a dense and velvet consistency, then elegant, harmonic and in the end lingering.

Virna is a husband and wife team from Piedmont Royalty. The wife and the wines namesake Virna Borgogno who’s family history dates back to 1720 in Barolo, sources her Barolo from her fathers, Lodovico Borgogno, single vineyard holdings in Barolo which are some of the most famous Cru’s in all of Barolo. Her husband Gianni Abrigo is famous for his family’s Barbaresco and today both Virna and Gianni make Abrigo’s Barbaresco and the Virna Barolo’s. This Barolo is a blend of the great Borgogno Barolo vineyards including Sarmassa and Cannubi Boschis. The wine is simply glorious, soaring with fruit, wonderful complexity on the palate and a long finish. Suckling comments, “Don’t miss this, crazy quality.” This is a great buy, while supplies last.
