I tasted this last night and wow does this wake-up the taste buds. As soon as we get some of this wine, it sells out. The 2018 vintage got 96pts Suckling, the 2019 got 95pts Suckling and the wine took-off. 2020 was not made due to the fires. We have been patiently waiting and the AXR Red Blend 2021 has arrived and it’s a definite buy! Demand has built up and the wine will sell out. AXR was put together by three money guys and a great Winemaker, Jean Hoefliger. Jean has made wine all over the world. Château Lynch-Bages and Château Carbonnieux in Bordeaux to Meerlust in South Africa. He then focused on Napa, Making wine at Newton and Alpha Omega. He consults for some of the biggest names in Napa. This has given him access to some of the finest Napa vineyards. The 2021 Red Blend which is 75% Cabernet is prices at $41.99 but the grapes that go into this wine come from Vineyards that make $200 plus wines, including Beckstoffer To Kalon, Sleeping Lady and V Madrone.  Named after the AxR rootstalk (Aramond x Rupestris) that was so prominent in building the modern California wine industry, AXR Winery pays homage to the so-called “roots” of the industry. By utilizing modern and innovative techniques in the cellar, AXR extract the uniqueness of Napa Valley’s soils into wines enjoyable now, or many years from now. I strongly recommend!
