Domaine de la Vielle Julienne is an iconic producer of Chateauneuf du Pape. Parkers calls their Chateauneuf du Pape Reserve one of the worlds greatest red wines and sells $300. Passed on to the Daumen family in 1905, today Jean Paul Daumen is considered one of the greatest winemakers in France. Daumen decided to change his focus and his purely making wines made by vineyareds owned by the Domaine.

Daumen is no longer making wine from Purchased fruit and is only focusing on vineyards that he owns. The result is a spectacaular new value from Daumen that is absolutely spectacular for the money.Crafted from vines planted in the Clavin and Maucoil vineyards on the east of the estate, the 2022 Ceci est un flacon de Vin de France is a new addition to Daumen’s lineup. The wine receive the same meticulous care and attention, both in the vineyard and in the cellar.A blend of 65% Grenache and mix-planted Syrah, Counoise, Cinsault, Carignan and Mourvèdre, it evokes a gourmand bouquet of flowers, dark cherries, rose and spices, followed by a moderately weighted, juicy and round palate with delicate tannins, a juicy core of fruit and a mouthwatering, penetrating finish.
