Girard Winery was started by started by Steve Girard in 1975 and was sold to Vintner Pat Roney in 2000. Girard is one of Napa’s great houses and they make to date one of the most consistent, undervalued Napa Cabs out there. Girard Winery produced sought-after wines that were enjoyed at state dinners and taken by presidents to heads of state as gifts. Julia Child even selected the winery for one of her events. This is one of the original wineries in Napa and today the wines are made by Marco Di Giulio and Glen Hugo. Hugo comes from a Restaurant back ground. Made wine at Provenance for Napa legend Tom Rinaldi and has been making wine at Girard for the last ten years, working his way up. Marco DiGiulio consults and is a Napa great making wines like Lokoya; Hidden Ridge, Rubissow and Pine Ridge. Parker comments, “Girard continues to rank among the most consistent producers of top-flight Napa Cabernet Sauvignon.” We agree making this a tremendous buy!
The 2021 Artistry is a complex and sophisticated wine. The nose reveals aromas of cassis, black cherry, vanilla, espresso and tobacco. The palate is rich and full-bodied with flavors of ripe, lush black fruits, hints of chocolate and savory spice. Firm and refined tannins are framed by well-integrated oak, providing structure and balance, leading to a lingering finish. Made from Girard’s best barrel lots Add To Cart
