Since its inception in 2008, The Mascot has been a cult continuation of the Harlan family legacy. Will Harlan, Bill Harlan’s son, wanted to introduce the Harlan experience to a broader audience. He spent years alongside the Harlan wine making team (winemaker emeritus Bob Levy and winemaker Cory Empting) as they crafted the BOND, Harlan Estate, Promontory and later The Mascott  wines through countless meticulous blending sessions. Dubbed a Winemaker’s Dream Vintage, the 2021 Mascot offers its fans a wine that is “supple and poised; its mantle of red fruit accented by dark details, like crimson velvet embroidered with fine violet threads. The tannins are smooth and sheer, with resolute acidity, lending to the palate a distinct classicism. The wine’s breadth gradually gathers itself from its periphery and focuses its energy toward a penetrating finish.”
