Hourglass is one of the finest producers in Napa. Their Sauvignon Blanc is a standout, perfect for Summer. We have it at a great low price of $32.99 to celebrate July 4th. I am a huge fan of the wines of Hourglass.  Hourglass represents a cutting-edge, modern Napa Valley winemaking style, and their wines have a devout and excitable following. I have been in some of the greatest cellars in the country, and Hourglass always sits right next to only the best.  Just about all their wine is sold directly from the Winery where there is a waiting list. A tiny amount comes out East and we are lucky to get some to offer. The property dates back to 1976, eventually purchased in 1992 by Jeff Smith, son of the original owner Ned Smith.  In 1992, Jeff enlisted his family friend Bob Foley as winemaker for their new venture. Today super star winemaker Tony Biagi makes the wine, also makes greats like PlumpJack and Cade. The Hourglass Sauvignon Blanc 2023 is Sauvignon at its finest. This is sophisticated summer drinking at a great price. Small production and hard to get, made from the: Hourglass Estate, Larkmead Lane, Varozza, Gamble Ranch vineyards. Hourglass started making this wine when Biagi came on as winemaker and his huge success in Napa with Sauvignon Blanc. The wine has great tension and vibrancy combined with a richer texture and beautiful balance. Great price, great premium Napa Summer white at its finest. This wines coming home with me for the Summer. Taste the difference.

The Hourglass 2023 Sauvignon Blanc is aromatically explosive.  Primary aromas of candied lime peel, mango, Meyer lemon, pomelo, and lemon grass emerge from the glass. Secondary characteristics of orange marmalade, honeysuckle, and fresh baked croissant offer an additional layer of richness and complexity. On the palate crisp zippy citrus tones and jasmine blossom weave with hints of brioche and wet stone minerality, providing nuance throughout.  15% Semillon gives further depth, and the mixture of steel and barrel fermentation contribute unparalleled texture and brightness.
