The balanced palate showcases bright fruit qualities highlighted by plum, mountain blueberries and juniper. The tannic structure of the wine lingers on your palate and leaves lasting notes of cigar box and unsweetened cocoa. Structured enough to be laid down but elegant enough to be enjoyed. This is hard core top of the mountain Napa Cab that started back in the 1970’s with Ken Laird family and the great Robert Mondavi. Mondavi liked the land so much in Napa that Laird was going to that they struck up a deal where Mondavi agreed to purchase half of Lairds grapes to help Laird finance the purchase and as they say the rest is history. Laird makes spectacular Napa Cab, led by Winemaker Brian Mox, started out at MIT, fell in love with food and wine, ended up in Napa, made wines for Tony Soter at Etude as well as Stags Leap and Pine Ridge.
