An opaque fuchsia core and a crimson laced rim introduces one to the 2023 Sign of the Times. Pleasing opening aromatics have notes of black plum, blackcurrant, dark chocolate and leather. The palate centers the attention with tones of blue fruits , more cassis , a hint of licorice and sweet oak. This is a full-bodied, dark-fruited and remarkably approachable red wine from Dave Phinney, whose deft touch has turned this blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah and Grenache into a decadent, layered wine. Plush notes of graphite and dark chocolate dominate, while the bright red-fruited character of the Grenache shines through, interwoven with violet and dried rose petal aromatics.
