Rozès White Reserve is an old white port, produced from a selection of the best white grapes of our “Quintas” in the Douro Superior. “Reserve” means that it’s a very high quality certificated by IVDP (Instituto dos Vinhos do Douro e Porto). After picking, pellicular maceration occurs in “lagares” (shallow treading tanks) and then alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks. The key step for the elaboration of port wines is the interruption of fermentation by the addition of a neutral distilled grape spirit at 77% ABV. Rozès White Reserve port is then aged in aged in oak casks for 6 to 8 years.
