Alvear Montilla-Moriles Asuncion Oloroso Alvear S.A. was established by Don Diego de Alvear in 1729 and since that time has remained under control of the Alvear family. This is the oldest winery in the region and its fino is today one of the three most popular fino wines in Spain. Located in the town of Montilla in theprovince of Cordoba in the interior of Andalucia. Grapes are sourced from their own vineyards of 307.2 acres. The extraordinary non-vintage Oloroso Asuncion is a medium dark amber-hued dry rich intense effort displaying an amazing perfume of walnuts and honey. Full-bodied dry powerful flavors linger on the palate. It is a steal at this price. Drink it with sushi or any number of tapas dishes. The light to medium amber-colored non-vintage Oloroso Asuncion believed to be from a 12-year old solera it is super-fragrant dry and intense.
