2013 Valdicava Brunello
2013 Valdicava Brunello A juicy, young Brunello with berry, dried mushroom and flower character. Orange peel, too. Full body, firm and velvety tannins and a flavorful finish. So complex and beautiful. It goes on for minutes. I love the balance that makes it so enjoyable to try now but it will age for decades ahead. Try to leave it until 2021. 98pts Suckling
Valdicava philosophy is to produce a Brunello that represents the best traditions in structure and aromatics with elegance, harmony and fruit. This wine offers intense aromatics, a silky mid-weight palate, and a complex layering of ripe fruit, fresh cut herbs and earthy notes. Winemaker

Valdicava is recognized as pinnacle Brunello’s made today. There’s Brunello and then there’s Valdicava. Valdicava has proven itself as a benchmark wine from Brunello di Montalcino. I am always amazed when tasting a flight of the finest Brunello’s how head and shoulders above the other wines Valdicava is. Some of the finest red wines I have ever had come from Valdicava. Owner/Winemaker Vincenzo Abruzzese who is kind enough to come in and taste with our customers every couple of years is a genius. Valdicava is one of Parkers top 3 favorite producers.
I have secured a small allocation of the great 2013 Valdicava Brunello that is staring to show. I had a bottle last night and I can still taste it.
