2016 Chateau De Cerons “750ML”
2016 Chateau De Cerons “750ML”: Color: Dark cherry red robe with nearly black reflects. Nose: Very rich , pulpy and elegant nose of black ripe berries , complex and showing the great ripeness of the vintage . Refined vanilla notes already well integrated at the nose at this stage. Mouth: A round and voluptuous 2016 wine. At the same time complete and complex in association with an impressive tannic structure balanced by its density and its refinement. The wine shows a great unctuosity attributing to it a superb length with a final note of remarkable freshness.
The history of this Chateau dates back some 300 years belonging to Lord, “Marquis de Calvimont”. Today it is owned by Giorgio Cavanna who acquired the property in 2000. The estate is located in the heart of the Graves region, in the village of Cerons. Historically known for the quality of its terroir and run like a Grand Cru Classe, the estate produces wine of exceptional quality with long aging potential. Giorgio totally revamped the Winery, replanted vineyards. All activities in the vineyard are oriented to highest quality, from balanced pruning, careful thinning out of leaves twice a season, green harvesting, manual picking and table hand selection, contributing to the production of the purest terroir expression. A fully renovated winery, storehouse and barrel cellar are part of this jewel , combining a state of the art facility with traditional know how , in the pure respect of the Bordeaux tradition. Wines are made by Bertrand Leon with the help of his father Patrick Leon who was previously winemaker for First Growth Chateau Mouton Rothschild that sells $1000 plus a bottle and is one of the greatest wines in the world. Experience the greatness of the winemaker and the terroir at a fraction of the price. The wine will floor you at the price. I strongly recommend!
