Tasting Notes; Very nice purple robe with a nose of small red fruits. Elegant, well balanced with very fine tannins. This wine can be kept for eight to ten years. Serve with roasted meats poultry and soft cheeses.

Pinot Noir is the dominant red wine grape of Burgundy, now adopted (and extensively studied) in wine regions all over the world. The variety’s elusive charm has carried it to all manner of vineyards.These extend from western Germany (as Spätburgunder) and northern Italy to Chile, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and the USA. California, Oregon and New Zealand are arguably the greatest centers for the grape outside its home territory. However great Pinot Noir is made in all of these territories.

Savigny-lès-Beaune is a large village in the Côte de Beaune sub-region of Burgundy, nestled between the hillsides of a sub-valley in the Côte d’Or escarpment. The last part of the name reflects the village’s location; it is just a short distance away from the town of Beaune (lès is an old French word for “near”). Almost all Savigny-les-Beaune wines are red, produced from Pinot Noir. They are similar in style to the red wines of Beaune, being neither as elegant as Volnay nor as powerful as Pommard, yet generally reliable and good value for money. Only about 10 percent of the appellation’s wines are white, produced from Chardonnay grapes.
