Rare Rosé Blend is a term used to identify rosé wines made from unusual or rarely seen varieties or combinations of grape varieties.
There is great variation within the world of rosé, from the fresh, strawberry-tinged wines of Provence to the much-maligned category of White Zinfandel. The grape varieties used are most commonly red, and the pale color is achieved by limiting the contact the grape has with its skins.
Riviera del Garda Classico is a DOC in Lombardy,Italy. It is technically a renaming of Riviera del Garda Bresciano, though at the same time (2011) Valtènesi DOC and the classico zone of Garda DOC were absorded into it.
A Riviera del Garda Classico Bianco contains a minimum 50 percent component of Riesling and or Welschriesling (Riesling Italico). Other authorized white grapes can contribute up to 50 percent, though only 5 percent may be other aromatic grapes.
A Riviera del Garda Rosso must have at least 30 percent of Groppello in its di Mocasina, di Stefano and/or Gentile variants. Barbera, Marzemino and Sangiovese may all contribute up to 25 percent. Other permitted varieties may also total 25 percent, though only 10 percent may be red Bordeaux varieties.
Cà dei Frati is an Italian wine producer situated on the southern shores of Lake Garda in Lombardy. It makes a range of Lombardy’s most widely recognized wines styles, like those from Lugana-Lombardy, Riviera del Garda Classico and Benaco Bresciano, but it also produces a single Amarone della Valpolicella wine.
The estate can trace its history back to 1782 to a wine cellar situated in the commune of Sirmione in Lugana. By 1939, the house and its cellar had been acquired by Felice Dal Cero, who began developing the winery and its vineyards over the next 30 years. Cà dei Frati’s first bottle of wine was released under the Lugana Casa dei Frati label in 1969.
