2018 Flora Springs Trilogy
2018 Flora Springs Trilogy A spectacular vintage yielded a deep, full-bodied red with dense flavors of black cherry and crème de cassis layered with dark chocolate, espresso bean, hints of licorice and wild chaparral. Warm and generous on the palate, the wine’s time in both French and American oak adds a spicy vanilla character to the mix, while the velvety tannins bring it to a long and satisfying finish.
Seamless, elegant texture that just glides across the palate. Giving up lots of red and black currants, flowery incense, medium to full-bodied richness, no hard edges, and a juicy, seamless, impossible to resist personality, it’s ideal for drinking over the coming 10-12 years.
Located at the base of the Mayacamas Mountains in the far Northwest corner of the Rutherford appellation, the Flora Springs estate is in the heart of the Napa Valley. The Flora Springs Trilogy dates back to 1984 when the family decided to make the best possible wine they could and realized that the way to do this was to blend the traditional Bordeaux varietals–Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. They created one of the first Meritage or Bordeaux blends. Many wineries have followed suit making their flagship wine a Bordeaux Blend. 2018 marks the 34th vintage of this great Cabernet based blend. Always from the Wineries finest fruit the 2018 Flora Springs Trilogy is superb, from the great 2018 Napa Vintage that scored 99pts for the vintage by the Wine Spectator. Decanter call the wine, “Very complex and stylish nose…A superb example of the variety.” The wine selling at the Winery for $125. We have it down for you to $72.99. The goal remains the same for this wine after 34 years, to make the best possible from Flora Springs great vineyards. The 2018 is fantastic! Trilogy remains one of Flora Springs most revered legacies
