2020 Chevalier de la Cree Montagny Premier Cru Knights Templar Cuvee
2020 Chevalier de la Cree Montagny Premier Cru Knights Templar Cuvee Chardonnay from Montagny, Cote Chalonnaise, Burgundy, France. A wine of concentration and power without heaviness. Cavaillon melon and cream with a prickly freshness and crisp citrus finish. Decanter On the palate, harmonious flavors of Meyer lemon, key-lime tart and white peach entice. A merging of finesse and minerality offers a tensioned acidity balanced with a creamy mouthfeel. This exemplary wine delivers richness and elegance suitable for drinking now, with a punctuated mineral essence that lingers exquisitely into the finish. Winemaker
Chateau de la Cree dates back to the 15th century when it was owned by Nicolas Rolin, chancellor to Philippe the Good and founder of the Hospices de Beaune. Today the Chateau makes wine from some of the finest Premier Cru blocks in Burgundy Montagny from the South is renowned for its white wines and once in while you find a great one like this wine. I loved the wines richness and concentration matched with elegance and length. Not a lot of wine to be had. I am a huge fan of White Burgundy and this wine breaks the mold offering great quality and great value.
