2021 Brandlin Henry’s Keep 750ML
2021 Brandlin Henry’s Keep 750ML The 2021 Henry’s Keep showcases a sumptuous bouquet of blue fruits, blackberry, violets, and sandalwood. The expansive palate unfolds with nuanced hints of orange pekoe tea, cacao, and caramel layered over fresh fruit. Supported by silky tannins, the wine offers a luxurious and well-rounded experience.
Henry Brandlin is a pioneer of Mt Veeder first planting vines on the Brandlin Estate in 1926, vines that still thrive today. Brandlin has earned renown as the source for some of California’s most extraordinary mountain-grown Cab. Today I bring you their superb 2021 Brandlin Henry’s Keep, the wine commemorates Henry and his sons and the wine that they specially made for the family crafted from the finest vineyard parcels on Mt Veeder. Todays is that wine sourced from the absolute finest from the 47 acres they have under vine on the mountain. The wine is 81% Cabernet and 2021 is an excellent vintage from Napa, receiving 96pts by Parker’s WA for the vintage.
The 2021 vintage of the wine has not been rated yet but the last strong year from Napa, 2019, the wine was on Wine Spectators Top 100 wines of the year. Mountain Cabs have more structure and depth, tend to age out longer than wines from the valley floor and are some of the finest Cabs on the planet. This wine absolutely blew me away, the essence of Mount Veeder. A balance of complex aromatics and fruit intensity guided by a core of taut yet silky tannins. Awesome Cab!
