Noël and Jean Luc Raimbault’s estate is located in one of the most beautiful villages in all of Sancerre, Sury-en-Vaux. The Raimbault’s have holdings of incredible old vine Sauvignon Blanc that they farm sustainably. The wines produced from this label are know for having a high amount of “flint” in the body of the wines. This can be attributed to the “Silex” in the subsoil, which is the French word for “Flint”. The silex in the subsoil in this region provides drainage and also absorbs the heat from the sun during the afternoon when the sun is the strongest. When it cools off in the evening the soil retains the heat, and this allows for longer hangtimes. Longer hangtimes result in a richer more pronounced flavor. The results are racy and high voltage wines which capture the essence of true Sancerre.
