I had a bottle of this last night and loved it. Bordeaux fans, St Emilion fans, this is for you. Exceptional quality for the money, all silk and satin, looking for a glass now or great in the cellar with a long drinking window of 2024 to 2044. The Chateau Poesia 2018 is not to be missed. The wine got huge press; 95pts by the The Wine Independent, Lisa Perotti Brown who used to rate for Parker; 94pts Parker’s WA; 94pts Vinous; 95pts Parker; 94pts JD. All this press for great Bordeaux that’s drinking with a 43% savings thats under forty. Hello!! Chateau Poesia was previously Chateau Haut Villet. I always had great terroir located on one of the highest limestone and clay-limestone plateaus in Saint-Émilion, neighboring greats Chateau Valandraud and Chateau Fleur Cardinale. Its ascendence began with the purchase in 2014 Hélène Garcin-Lévêque and her husband, winemaker Patrice Lévêque who also owned and improved the excellent Chateau Barde Haut and Clos Leglise. Originally from Argentina they renamed the winery, Chateau Poesia meaning poet and comes from the family’s property Bodega Poesia in Mendoza. They totally renovated the vineyards and modernized the facility and the results have been spectacular. This wine totally over delivers in all facets that matter. I strongly recommend.
