Chevalier de la Cree Cote de Beaune Knights Templar Cuvee 2019

This is a great offer that I have been trying to get enough wine to send out. Ken and Grace Evenstad are founders and owners of the famous Domaine Serene Winery in Oregon where they make some of the finest Pinot Noir and Chardonnay there is. Both have been places in the top three wines of the world by the Wine Spectator and in 2016 their wine won the top Platinum Award and Best in Show at the Decanter World Wine Awards. They are passionate about Chardonnay and Pinot Noir and have come full circle with their dream of making wine in Burgundy when they purchased the respected Burgundy wine estate, Château de la Crée, in April 2015.

The wine comes from the great 2019 red Burgundy vintage. From north to south the region scored no less than 95+pts by all the major publications including Parker and Wine Spectator.

Chateau de la Cree dates back to the 15^th century when it was owned by Nicolas Rolin, chancellor to Philippe the Good and founder of the Hospices de Beaune. Today the Chateau makes wine from some of the finest Premier Cru blocks in Burgundy including today’s great white. No other region matches the legendary winemaking legacy of Burgundy, where 12th century knights returning from the crusades established vineyards in the Côte de Beaune. These elite Knights Templar swore a vow to never retreat or surrender, and that spirit is reflected in this wine’s unrelenting focus on quality, which offers a pure and authentic expression of Burgundy. I loved the wines richness and concentration matched with elegance and length. Not a lot of wine to be had. Breaks the mold offering great quality and great value!
