2021 Hourglass HG III 750ML

Hourglass is one of the great Cult producers in Napa. Their wines have become hugely sought after. Just about all there wine is sold  directly from the Winery where there is a waiting list. A tiny amount comes out East and we are lucky to get some to offer. They are famous for their great Cabernets that sell for way over $100 a bottle. What many don’t know is that they also make a wine called the HGIII that sells for about $60 to $70 a bottle that is one of the smarter insider best buys coming out of Napa. The wine is made from Hourglass fruit that receives the same expertise and tender loving care as their Cabs and today we can offer you that wine all the way down to $37.99 a bottle. This price is a no-brainer buy! The wine is a selection of the more fruit forward barrels and is a study in the art of blending. The Hourglass HGIII 2021 has spectacular appeal right out of the gate and will improve in the cellar over the next ten years. 2021 is an excellent vintage from Napa, receiving 96pts by Parker’s WA for the vintage. The 2021 HGIII is the finest vintage to date. It is the best I have tasted.  The property dates back to 1976, eventually purchased in 1992 by Jeff Smith, son of the original owner Ned Smith.  In 1992, Jeff enlisted his family friend Tony Biagi, a veteran Napa Valley winemaker with extensive experience at some of the Valley’s elite wineries, including Duckhorn, Paraduxx, Plumpjack, and Cade.
