2010 Chateau Olivier Grand Cru Classe Rouge 750ML
2010 Chateau Olivier Grand Cru Classe Rouge 750ML Pure and beautiful aromas of blueberries and dark chocolate that follow through to a full body, with fine tannins and a silky finish. Very fine indeed. Wonderful length to this. Best wines in years from here. Solid, with a saturated core of plum, anise and blackberry cloaked in ganache and melted licorice snap notes.
This wine boasts all the characteristics of a great vintage. The bouquet is appealing. On the palate the explosion of strawberry, blackberry and raspberry flavors combines with light, pleasantly silky tannins. The overall impression is smooth and fruity. The finesse of the cabernets and the roundness of the merlots once again turn out to be perfectly complementary. This is a great, racy wine, a perfect expression of its deep-gravel terroir and a wine that offers a new dimension. Winemaker
2010 is one of the greatest vintages ever for the Graves receiving 99pts by Parker’s WA. With time in the bottle this wine has come together superbly, tannins have softened and the wine is all silk and satin, texturally superb. This Cabernet based, legendary vintage Bordeaux is great drinking. The 2010 Chateau Olivier Grand Cru Classe is a rare opportunity to procure a great Bordeaux, great vintage that’s ready to go and that does not break the bank.
Château Olivier is one of the oldest estates in Bordeaux, with a history dating back to the 12th century. Secluded amidst acres of forests, it features a genuine castle with a moat. The Black Prince, the eldest son of King Edward III, is said to have loved the property for its hunting grounds. The Bethmann family acquired the estate in 1867 and continues to run it today, under owner Alexander de Bethmann and winemaker Laurent Lebrun. This is a great wine to be enjoyed now and over the next five years.
