White Wine from Loire Valley, France
Delicate white flowers and orange blossoms aromas with a touch of exotic fruit on the palate. Crisp and fresh with a citrusy finish. Focused, ripe and mineral, very rounded and lengthy.
Domaine Raffaitin Planchon is a 15-hectare estate located in the town of Amigny, in the heart of the Sancerre wine-growing area. Its history dates back to the mid 1950s, when Jean-Claude Raffaitin’s parents married. They decided to jointly cultivate their family’s respective lands in Bue and Amigny, consisting primarily of cereal crops and grasslands for goats. In the early 1980s, Jean Claude decided to start planting vines on this land, so propitious to the making of great wines. The furrows of cereal crops gradually gave way to rows of vines. Today, the tradition endures as Jean Claude and his wife were joined by their son Antoine, now 2nd generation on the estate. 12 hectares are planted in Sauvignon Blanc, and 3 are planted in Pinot Noir. Delicate aromas of white flowers and orange blossoms. On the palate, one detects a touch of exotic fruit. It is a very vibrant and fresh wine, with notes of ripe citrus and minerality. It has a beautiful round and long finish.
