Robert Parker on a visit to the Winery proclaimed DeLille Cellars the “Lafite Rothschild of Washington State.” DeLille is one of the finest producers of Cabernet based red wines in the US for the last thirty years. Winemaking is led by Jason Gorsky with numerous 100 point scores under his belt at DeLille, focusing on wines made in the Red Mountain AVA of Columbia Valley. They have a five star excellence rating by Robert Parker. They have received over 800 90 plus point ratings from the top Wine critics, numerous placings on Top 100 lists. They have been included in Wine & Spirits Top 100 Wineries Of The Worlds five times. They make spectacular wine and today I have their DeLille Cellars Chaleur Estate Red 2020 down to $36.99 from $85 and the wine is glorious. Classic Cabernet based blend (63%), 100% new oak, with time in the bottle has developed into a rich, opulent, all silk and satin, tannins have smoothed out superbly into a spectacular bottle of full bodied big red wine. I would recommend decanting to get experience the wines full aromatics. The wine has entered its drinking window and can be cellared through 2042 (Parker). Cabernet fans this is a tremendous buy on some serious quality, hard core, real deal big red wine.
