Freemark Abbey is famous for the great Cabernet they make. Today, Jackson Family Wines owns the Freemark Abbey. They have put together a portfolio of some of the famous Napa properties: including blue chip La Jota, Lokoya and Cardinale. The wines were made by Ted Edwards for a remarkable 40 years and has now been taken over by Kristy Melton, one of the up and comer rock star winemaker’s in Napa, making wine at Clos du Val and Saintsbury and was in charge for three years in the Jackson Family’s Bordeaux operation. Her goal is to continue the commitment to making classically structured, age worthy cabs.
