“Inviting aromas of red cherries, rose petals, violets and a hint of fresh Mediterranean herbs. Full-bodied with fine tannins. Nicely balanced on the palate, with very clear and transparent red fruit and berries. Rosemary and thyme, too. Juicy. From organically grown grapes.
The color is dark ruby-red with purple highlights; nose brimming over with leather, black liquorice, coffee and blackberry. On the palate it provides a warm feeling of volume and body, with the fruit blending marvelously with the soft tannins and the acidity, while its finish is long and savory.
Mirafiore was founded in 1858 by Emanuele Mirafiore, son of Italy’s King Vittorio Emanuele II. It helped cement Barolo’s enduring nickname: the King of Wines, the Wine of Kings. Today, under visionary owner Oscar Farinetti (the brains behind Eataly), Mirafiore remains a guardian of Piedmont’s timeless traditions. Winemaker is Danilo Drocco also makes Fontanafreda and Nino Negri.
